INSIDE TODAY: 8 PAGE NAIDOC WEEK FEATURE

The cabinet reshuffle made headlines last week and the Victorian Government is losing some long-term experienced ministers, who have been supportive of the issues we face in the Shepparton District. They have been replaced with new ministers I am keen to work with to highlight the need to continue government investment in the Shepparton District electorate.

The outgoing Water Minister Lisa Neville has been a strong ally to the region in terms of advocating for no further water buybacks from the Goulburn Murray Irrigation District, even when Federal Labor is committing to delivering the Basin Plan in full and on time. We know the 2024 deadline for water recovery will not be achieved given the number of efficiency projects that will be incomplete by that date. I will continue these important conversations with the new Water Minister Harriet Shing, who has served as the Parliamentary Secretary for Water.
