WELCOME

June has flown past and with the weather getting colder, we’re encouraging people to get their flu shots and be up-to-date with their COVID-19 vaccinations to keep themselves and the community protected this winter.

Our Emergency Department (ED) has been experiencing high demand and lengthy wait times recently and as a result, we are requesting that patients only present themselves to ED if their condition is urgent or life-threatening. Despite the busy times, our staff have continued to work hard and provide quality care to the region and I commend them for their work.

The redevelopment of our campus on Graham Street is progressing well. Former Victorian Health Minister Martin Foley visited us on June 15 and officially opened our recently completed special care nursery, paediatric ward and parts of our expanded Emergency Department. These new facilities add more capacity and the latest technology to our health service to help provide the best-of-care and support close to home.

June also saw the start of our new Smile Squad program, a free dental service that will travel around Goulburn Valley schools providing free dental check-ups for students. Smile Squad will be rolled out across GV schools in the following months.
